FTA Dublin Branch Quiz

Transition Year Quiz, 10th – 14th May 2021

We invite Transition Year students in the Dublin area to participate in a French Quiz.

  • Teachers can register their class for the quiz by emailing info.ftadublin@nullgmail.com
  • The questions and answers will be emailed to teachers
  • The quiz can take place during class time on any day in the week 10th – 14th May

Email the name of your winning team and their result to be in with a chance to win a 50 euro voucher.

Carrick-on-Shannon Annual 1st Yr French Table Quiz

The Carrick-on-Shannon branch of the FTA is moving its annual 1st year table quiz online this year.

This event is open to all schools in the Carrick-on-Shannon catchment area and will be run from Monday 10th – Thursday 13th May 2021. Heats will be held in the individual schools at a time of the teacher’s choosing with certification sent to the winning team in each class/school.  Winners from each school will be entered into a draw for an overall prize for their class.

Cork FTA 2020 Inter-school Quiz

19 teams of Senior Cycle students from 14 different schools in County Cork took part in the French quiz organised in Presentation Brothers College Cork by the Cork branch of the French Teachers’ Association on Monday 10th February 2020.

Well done to Ms Merrick, Ms O’Brien and Ms Broderick whose students won this year.

In this year’s edition, one of the rounds of questions concerned French-speaking countries in Africa, which echoed the upcoming Africa 2020 Season initiative in France.

We are very grateful to Ms Solène Vilchien (Attachée de coopération pour le français, French Embassy in Ireland), Mr Josselin Le Gall (Honorary Consul of France in Cork), Ms Catherine Gagneux (Honorary Consul of France in Galway), Dr Patrick Crowley and Dr Dónal Hassett (UCC Department of French), Ms Elise Busson (Exam Service Manager, Alliance Française Dublin) and Alliance Française de Cork for providing part of the prizes, and to Mr David Barry, Principal of Presentation Brothers College Cork, for hosting our quiz.

Cork FTA Inter-school Quiz, 4 Feb 2019

Le quiz inter-écoles annuel de la branche de Cork de la FTA aura lieu le lundi 4 février, de 19 h à 21 h, à l’Université de Cork.

Cette compétition est ouverte aux lycéens (Cycle Senior) et aux élèves en année de Transition. Il y a des prix à gagner !

L’inscription au quiz doit être réalisée par les enseignants avant le 31 janvier, par e-mail (corkfrenchteachersassociation@nullgmail.com). Cependant, les places étant limitées, il est préférable de s’inscrire bien à l’avance.

Coût de l’inscription d’une équipe de 4 élèves :

  • 10 euros pour les enseignants membres de la FTA
  • 20 euros pour les enseignants non affiliés à la FTA

Chaque école peut inscrire un maximum de deux équipes.
