Our National Conference, 2021, will take place on October 16th at 9.00, online. Please be sure to join us for what promises to be an exciting day of talks!

Our speakers include Mr. Brian North, Council of Europe, Dr. Liam Printer, founder of The Motivated Classroom and Ms. Sarah Delbois, CAVILAM Vichy. There will also be presentations from the JCT, the PPLI and Alliance française de Dublin.

Congrès national de la FTA 2020/FTA National Conference 2020

La santé et la sécurité de nos membres et des amis de la FTA étant ses priorités, le bureau national de la FTA annonce, avec regret, l’annulation de son congrès national prévu pour le 09-10 octobre 2020 à Galway. Elle souhaite à tous un excellent été après ce 3etrimestre si différent des autres et attend le plaisir de vous retrouver en septembre.

The health and safety of our members and of the friends of the FTA being our priorities, it is with regret that the National Executive of the FTA announces the cancelling of this year’s national congress planned for the 9th-10thOctober 2020 in Galway. We wish you a great summer after this very different 3rdterm and look forward to seeing you in September.

La francophonie-langue et cultures

Appel à communication

Le congrès national de la FTA La francophonie – langue et cultures – aura lieu le 09-10 octobre 2020 à Galway.

La FTA nationale lance un appel à communication auprès des enseignants de français désirant effectuer un atelier pédagogique dans le cadre de ce congrès.

Ces ateliers devront s’adresser aux enseignants de français du secondaire en République d’Irlande, concerneront l’enseignement du français et le thème du congrès et seront réalisés en français. Chaque atelier aura lieu samedi 10 octobre 2020 au matin (11h30-12h30).

Congratulations to all on a fantastic FTA conference 2019 in Carrick-on-Shannon (Oct 11th -12th 2019).
With over 200 attendees, une soirée-accueil musicale, 2 exhibition areas, a choice of 5 dynamic workshops, our incredible keynote speaker, Dr. Gianfranco Conti, and on point “interventions” from Mme. Diallo(French Embassy), Mme. Vilchien (Service Culturel) and Mme. Mordelet (Alliance Française de Dublin) the weekend was a real moment of reflection, exchange, discussion and active learning for all present.
The FTA would like to thank all those who participated in making this such a fruitful and enjoyable conference. It acknowledges, in particular, all the voluntary planning and preparatory work of the National Executive sub committee and of the Carrick-on-Shannon sub Committee since December 2018 and their incredible teamwork over the weekend to really bring the conference alive.
We thank, in advance, our different speakers for making copies of their presentations available very soon on fta.ie.

‘Le français, c’est trop bien!’

The FTA Poster Competition Le français, c’est trop bien! is being run in conjunction with the 2019 FTA National Conference in Carrick-on-Shannon 11-12th October 2019. It is open to all first and second year students whose contact teacher has registered for the 2019 conference.

To have your students participate in this fun activity and be in with a chance of winning a prize and having their work presented to delegates at our Congrès national, download the competition form.

Registration for attendance at our National FTA Conference in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, is now open!

Be sure to note the dates in your diary: 11/12 October, as the Conference promises to be of huge interest to all those attending, with our keynote presentation from Dr. Gianfranco Conti, PhD, as well as workshops presented by Claire Jacob (une grammaire pour tous), Caroline Moreau (La chanson: outil pédagogique), Eileen Bowman (The student language portfolio (J.C.)), Anne Gill (l’écriture créative) and Avril Egan (Les applis dans les cours de français).

Le prochain congrès de la  FTA Irlande

Le prochain congrès de la  FTA Irlande aura en octobre 2019 dans le centre du pays (Midlands). À ne pas confondre avec la conférence organisée par une enterprise commerçiale privée pour le mois de mars 2019

The FTA wishes to annonce that its 2019 French Teachers’ National Conference will be in October 2019 in the Midlands. The FTA is in no way involved with the Athlone conference in March 2019 which is being organised by a private commercial business.

The Conference will will be held in the Student Centre at UCC. If you are arriving at UCC by car, parking is available in Áras na Laoi. (Please note that there is a €2 exit charge when leaving the car park.)
